Where to put alarm sensors

Cover the ways in first. Then cover the rooms a person would walk through. Jeweller’s range is long. You still place sensors where they see the job.

  • Door and window sensors on every exterior door, and on windows that open to a fire escape, roof, or easy climb.
  • MotionCam in halls and main rooms so you get photos, not just a beep. Keep pets in mind. Aim across the room, not straight at a heater or a sunny window.
  • Keypad inside, next to the door people actually use, so they can disarm without racing.
  • Hub out of sight if you can, but not inside a metal cabinet that kills the radio. Power and a network path.
  • Siren high, where it is hard to reach and the sound carries.

Shops and offices: cover the customer door, the back door, and the stock room. Warehouses: cover man doors and the office, then add motions down the aisles you care about. Groups let you arm the floor and leave the office open.
