How to set up a smart alarm

Power the hub, put it on the network, then add devices in the Ajax app. That is the whole job. No alarm wire.

  1. Mount or sit the hub where it has power and a network jack. Hub 2 Plus can also use WiFi and cell SIMs as backup paths.
  2. Open the app, create the space, and add the hub.
  3. Add each sensor, keypad, and siren from the app. Most just need the battery pulled and the add button.
  4. Walk the doors and motions once so you know they report. Trip a MotionCam and confirm the photos land.
  5. Set who gets alerts, then test arm and disarm from the keypad and the phone.

Do the alarm first. Range extenders and smart plugs come after the sensors all show online. OS Malevich on the hub updates itself. You do not babysit firmware.
