Buy the door unit first, then the bits that make it work. Intercom and access mix. You can start with one aisle and add the other.
Video intercom
- Outdoor door station (the intercom). That is the camera, speaker, and unlock.
- A way to answer: SmartPlus on the phone (cloud subscription), or an indoor station on the wall (works local, no monthly).
- PoE switch port and Cat 6. 2-wire stations if you are keeping old doorbell wire.
- The matching rain cover and back box for that model.
- An electric lock if you want to unlock from the app or indoor station.
Door access
- Reader, keypad, or facial terminal at each staff or amenity door.
- Controller (one door, or a 4-door cabinet) when the reader does not fire the lock itself.
- Electric lock and the power that lock needs.
- Cards or fobs if you are not using PIN or face only.
Mount kits sit next to each model. Use the ones listed for that station or reader. Models are interchangeable in the same Akuvox system.
