Jeweller already reaches a long way (up to 2,000 meters in open space). If a sensor sits far from the hub, or the signal has to punch through thick walls or metal, it can still drop off. A ReX range extender is a second radio in the middle. It runs OS Malevich too, with its own backup battery.
You need one when:
- A sensor in the app shows weak or goes offline, and the battery is fine.
- The building is long (warehouse, strip shop, big house) and the last rooms are a stretch.
- The hub lives in a closet or rack and the sensors are on another floor or in a detached office.
Put the extender halfway, with power, not inside a metal box. Several extenders can cover a big site. Add sensors again if the app asks you to after the extender is online.
