What you need for a smart alarm

Start with the hub. Everything else pairs to it. Mix any Ajax sensor on that hub. Add later.

  1. Control panel (the hub). Hub 2 Plus if you want Ethernet plus WiFi plus two cell SIMs, more devices (up to 200), and more users. That is the one built to stay online.
  2. A keypad so people on site can arm and disarm without a phone.
  3. Door and window sensors on the openings you care about.
  4. Motion. MotionCam if you want photos when it trips. That is the one that sells the system.
  5. A siren so the space itself makes noise, not just the phone.

Add a range extender if a sensor sits far from the hub. Add smoke, fire, and CO if you want that in the same app. Smart plugs and relays are extra, after the alarm itself is solid.

No monthly fee to turn it on. You buy the gear here. Optional monitoring later if you want a company to watch the photos.
